Dr. Marija Dumnić Vilotijević
About me
Marija Dumnić Vilotijević holds MA and PhD in ethnomusicology from Faculty of Music of theUniversity of Arts in Belgrade. She is Senior Research Associate at Institute of Musicology of SerbianAcademy of Sciences and Arts. She specialized in similar institutions of Austrian and BulgarianAcademies of Sciences. She serves as Chair of Research Archives Section of International Associationof Sound and Audiovisual Archives and of National Committee for Serbia of the International Councilfor Traditions of Music and Dance, as well as Editor-in-Chief of Muzikologija and Managing Editor ofIASA Journal. She wrote and edited numerous publications in Serbian and English. Her research ofSerbian and Balkan folk and popular music practices is based on archival and field work, with musicaland contextual analysis, mainly contributing to topics of Balkan urban folk music and historical soundcarriers in Serbia. She recently has done a research of music and dance within Belgrade refugeecommunity from Burundi.
