About me
Jocelyn Solonjatovo holds a Master’s degree in History (2025) from the University of Antananarivo, with a thesis on Betsileo musical and oral heritage (1900–1976). He previously completed a Master 1 in History (2009) on record culture in Madagascar (1900–1960). A researcher preparing a PhD in history, his work focuses on the history of music and musical and oral heritage in Madagascar, with particular attention to local cultural and historical dynamics. His research specifically explores sound recording practices, musical media (records, radio), and their role in shaping sociocultural transformations in the twentieth century, as well as the use of oral and sound sources in historical research.
