About me
Ghada Dimashk is an archivist and metadata librarian specializing in Lebanese and Palestinian cultural heritage. She is Arabic Resources Specialist in Research and Instruction Services at Jafet Library, American University of Beirut, and a member of the Project Management Team for Withaqiyyah Archives, where she leads the real-time social-media archiving of the war on Lebanon and contributes to developing the Jabal Amel Archives and an integrated library–archive–museum infrastructure for South Lebanon. She also a member of to Tālīd—the National Network for the Protection of Libraries, Archives, and Cultural Heritage in Lebanon—which documents and protects Lebanon’s endangered cultural memory and heritage spaces.
She previously served on the Project Management Team of Fighting Erasure—recognized as the first real-time social-media archiving project conducted during an ongoing war—and as Librarian and Archivist at AUB’s Palestine Land Studies Center. Her work includes developing metadata policies and specialized thesauri for Palestinian heritage. She brings more than a decade of cataloging and RDA implementation experience at the Lebanese National Library.
