Craig Field is a Senior Audio Preservation Officer at the National Archives of Australia, bringing more than 26 years of professional experience across music, audio, and sound pre- and post-production. His career spans extensive work in Australia and internationally as a commercial audio engineer and senior audio consultant. Craig has produced, recorded, mixed, and mastered hundreds of complex commercial albums, soundtracks, and modernist classical works, and has consulted for major international organisations including Sony Japan and Stage Tec Germany. His practice is grounded in deep technical expertise across recording, audio systems, and studio operations. He brings deep expertise in recording systems, studio practice, and audio technologies to the preservation of complex audiovisual collections, focusing on sustaining and advancing technical capability and supporting long-term archival outcomes.
