About me
Andrew Skinner is the co-director of Memorias Sonoras, an initiative dedicated to supporting musical archives in Mendoza, Argentina, through community collaboration. Over the past three years, through Memorias Sonoras, he managed the preservation of the Zanessi Studios collection of historic recordings at the Archivo General de la Provincia de Mendoza with support from the Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation. His work with narrative fieldwork related to the Nuevo Cancionero Movement began with a Fulbright Grant in 2022, resulting in a collection of interviews on the continued influence of the folk movement during the last dictatorship. He is an audio engineer and musician by training, receiving his master’s degree from Berklee College of Music in Music Production, and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Latin American Art research at the Universidad Nacional de Cuyo.
