About me
My name is Niki Adamidou and I come from Greece. I have a Bachelor degree in Conservation of Works of Art. On 03.01.2019 I supported the undergraduate thesis entitled "Study and maintenance of 1970s 1980s vinyl discs from industrial paper", supervised by Mr Konstantinos Choulis. Recently I completed my postgraduate studies about Folk/Popular Culture and Modern Cultural Heritage (LPK) in the Hellenic Open University. On 07.03.2026 I supported the master thesis entitled "Visual and Audio Documents of Intangible Cultural Heritage. Their Preventive Conservation and its Contribution to the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage", supervised by Dr. Drinis Ioannis, with which I will also take part in the IIC Congress that will be held in 8 - 11 September 2026, with a poster presentation. Throughout my career, I have been actively involved in a variety of conservation projects. Most recently, I am part of the team of Kunstkonserveringen Vest, in Silkeborg. Before that I was appointed by the Directorate of Conservation of Ancient and Modern Monuments, working on the ancient plaster in Ancient Olympia. Apart from these latest projects, my experience also includes conservation of wooden artifacts, conservation of works of art on paper and conservation of photograph. I am well-versed in the use of conservation techniques, depending the condition of the object. I also have a thorough understanding of the principles of preventive conservation and the use of conservation materials. Furthermore, I did my six-month internship in the Gothenburg Museum of Art, under the supervision of Malin Borin and Mariateresa Pullano. Additionally, I actively participated in projects that took place at the Röhsska museum under the supervision of Susanne Stenbäcken and at the Gothenburg Bourse, under Kulturvard Heberlein Company. My most recent internship, during my master studies, being in the conservation department of Kunstkonserveringen Vest, that lasted from October 2025 till December 2025, supervised by Elizabeth Baadsgaard. Apart from my conservation skills, I would like to mention that I am able to work well both individually and within a team. As a person I am not afraid to challenge myself and try to learn new things, since I believe that we can always learn something new.
