This paper presents the Koluel oral and audiovisual archive project, focused on the memories of Southern Patagonia, and its dedicated collection on the Malvinas War (1982). It will analyze how this community archive stands as a fundamental tool for safeguarding memory in post-war contexts, addressing the challenges of constructing regional identity through direct testimonies and, crucially, the technical and ethical issues surrounding the authenticity of audiovisual supports. The presentation aims to contribute to the debate on the role of regional archives in preserving peripheral narratives and the need for collaborative standards to ensure the faithful transmission of these memories to future generations.
